While most of us spent Black Friday scoping out the sales, Alyson Hannigan and the FabKids team were busy with a different kind of Christmas shopping. With a little help from our team, Aly picked out over 45,000 pieces of clothing, shoes, and accessories for kids who could use a little extra love and care this time of year.
Over 6,000 children call the streets of Mexico’s Northern Baja region home. Without proper care, many live in damaging and often life-threatening circumstances. For more than 20 years, Corazon de Vida has worked to improve access to health care, housing, education, and provide a sense of community for these children.
With help from the Hannigans, we contributed more than one half million dollars in gifts to Corazon de Vida, the leading for-purpose organization providing support to abandoned children of Baja, Mexico.
“I was eager to partner with FabKids on this,” says Hannigan. “We can make a significant difference in the lives of many children.” CDV has held a special place in Hannigan’s heart since she and her family started working closely with them. Hannigan and her family have visited the Baja orphanages to meet the children and bring life essential donations like clothes, accessories, and gifts. “As a mother, I can’t think of anything more important than providing children basic necessities and empowering them for a better future,” says Hannigan. “Corazon de Vida does exactly that, and I’ve seen their impact.”
We’re psyched that Aly enlisted us to help to get the clothing and accessories ready to send to their future homes in Baja. The Hannigans graciously turned their home into Santa’s workshop so we could package shirts, pants, dresses, shoes, hats, and accessories for the kids. The FabKids team had a total blast wrapping gifts and writing cards with Aly and her two daughters.
Helping kids feel their absolute best is what FabKids is all about, and we are so thankful we could work with Aly to support Corazon de Vida’s incredible cause.
