Summer has long been regarded as a time for kids to relax and have fun. While it’s great to take a break, research shows that most students lose about 2 months of mathematical computation skills over the summer while others lose more than two months in reading achievement. School may be out for summer but there’s plenty of time to still learn. Check out our tips that will help your child keep learning all summer long.

Keep Children Reading

– Use books to break boredom

Build Math Momentum

– Play board games
– Allow kids to count money that will be used for purchases
– Allow kids to measure when cooking
– Save change throughout the summer, add it up at the end and then plan to spend it on something special

Maintain Science Skills

– Create an insect collection or raise butterflies
– Complete family science projects
