The school year is finally coming to an end in a couple of weeks so I’ve begun brainstorming gift ideas for each of my children’s teachers. If you stop and really think about it, we entrust teachers with spending a lot of time with our kids. In my opinion, they’re worth far more than a mug or t-shirt. I’ve compiled a list of gifts your child’s teacher is sure to love.
Many teachers spend their own money on purchasing supplies for their class. Help a teacher out by giving them gift cards to stores where they can buy supplies and goodies for their students.
Throughout the year, connect with other parents to capture photos. Near the end of the year, print the photos and place them in a small album/book for the teacher to keep in his/her room.
Teachers usually send a list of needed supplies home during the beginning of the year. Items like paper towels, crayons, tissue and hand sanitizer are needed daily. Stocking up on some of these items will be a big help for the teacher come the new school year.
If your teacher likes to reward their class with small prizes for their successes, chances are they are funding those prizes. Head to your local discount store and purchase a few goodies to donate to the prize box.
Toward the end of the year, provide your teacher with a “questionnaire” that will allow him/her to document some of their favorites (restaurant, free time activity, etc). Make copies for each child in the class to share with their parents. Feel free to gift one or all of the teacher’s favorite things to show them just how much you appreciate them.
Collect donations from other parents then present the money to the teacher in a card signed by each student.
What will you be gifting your child’s teacher this year? Be sure to share in the comments below.
